Property Manager / Estate General Manager

About Highland Consulting Group

Highland Consulting Group is a national executive search firm specializing in placing accomplished construction, facilities, and operations professionals with respected organizations across the country. With more than 75 years of combined industry experience, we understand that the right opportunity is about more than a job description—it is about leadership fit, long-term career growth, and the ability to operate successfully in a highly professional environment.

Position Overview

We are partnering with a premier, well-funded private property management organization in Southwestern Pennsylvania to identify an experienced Property Manager / Estate General Manager. This is a rare opportunity for a polished, hands-on operations leader who understands how to manage complex property operations while providing exceptional service to high-net-worth ownership and their guests.

The ideal candidate will bring the professionalism, discretion, judgment, and communication style required to work in a private-client environment, while also having the practical experience to lead teams, manage vendors, oversee capital projects, and ensure the property is maintained to an exceptional standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations for a large, high-value private property with a focus on service, presentation, safety, and long-term asset care.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for ownership, executive-level stakeholders, guests, vendors, contractors, and internal staff.
  • Oversee renovation, maintenance, infrastructure, landscaping, road, and capital improvement projects from planning through completion.
  • Manage and develop a large field and support staff, including landscaping, maintenance, administrative, and operations personnel.
  • Oversee accounting-related functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Create, manage, and maintain annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Work closely with ownership to support long-term property planning, staffing strategy, project priorities, and operational improvements.
  • Administer contracts, subcontracts, procurement activities, equipment purchases, vendor relationships, and project documentation.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and responsiveness in all communications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing high-value properties, estates, facilities, construction operations, or complex private-client environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with high-net-worth individuals, ownership groups, senior executives, or highly discerning clients.
  • Strong executive presence, polished communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to represent the organization professionally at all times.
  • Experience building, managing, and improving budgets, operating plans, vendor programs, and maintenance schedules.
  • Proven success leading a large workforce and holding teams accountable to high standards of performance, responsiveness, and presentation.
  • Working knowledge of construction, maintenance, landscaping, roadwork, facility systems, contracts, procurement, and vendor management.
  • Physically able and willing to inspect all areas of a large rural property in varying conditions.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality.

Compensation & Benefits

Our client offers a strong compensation package designed to reward leadership, professionalism, and long-term commitment, including:

  • Competitive salary
  • Retirement plan
  • Paid family healthcare
  • Car allowance
  • Confidential opportunity with a respected, well-funded private organization

Contact Us

If you are an experienced property, facilities, construction, or estate operations leader who can combine hands-on management with the discretion and professionalism required in a high-net-worth client environment, I would welcome a confidential conversation.
