POSITION OVERVIEW

As the first point of contact for our guests, the Host / Hostess plays a crucial role in creating a positive first impression, providing exceptional service and creating an exceptional dining experience. In this role, you support reservations, greet guests, and ensure smooth seating arrangements, while also providing excellent customer service throughout their visit.

Role Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with a warm, welcoming, and professional demeanor upon arrival.
  • Manage guest seating, reservations, and waitlists efficiently to ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Present menus and communicate daily specials, promotions, and other relevant restaurant information.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the host stand and lobby area.
  • Answer telephone calls professionally and assist guests with reservations and general inquiries.
  • Collaborate with servers, management, and kitchen staff to support smooth and efficient restaurant operations.
  • Handle guest concerns, requests, and special accommodations with professionalism, courtesy, and discretion.
  • Uphold service standards to ensure a memorable and exceptional guest experience.
  • Maintain and uphold the Company's vision, values, and service culture.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • 2+ years related experience in a similar position within a fine dining, high volume environment.
  • Knowledge of POS and reservation systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, bilingual a plus.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and the ability to anticipate and meet guests' needs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude and welcoming feedback.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to handle various guest relations scenarios.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
  • Professional demeanor, polished appearance with the ability to exceed guests' expectations.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong work ethic and customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with local health and safety standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • May be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs at times.
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the work area and property.
  • Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
  • Climbing steps regularly.
  • Prolonged periods of standing.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The hourly pay rate for this position is $21 per hour plus tips.
  • The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
