Fire Watch / Site Safety Monitor

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Project Type: Data Center Construction / Retrofit

Schedule: 12-hour shifts

Position Overview

Our Client is seeking dependable Fire Watch / Site Safety Monitors to support an active data center construction and retrofit project in Oklahoma City.

This position is responsible for maintaining continuous fire-watch coverage while portions of the facility's fire protection system are temporarily placed in test/bypass mode during system redesign and construction activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with construction-site, industrial, fire-watch, safety, or facilities experience who are reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain continuous Fire Watch coverage as assigned.
  • Monitor the designated work area and remain alert throughout the shift.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and Fire Watch protocols.
  • Identify and report potential hazards or unsafe conditions.
  • Respond appropriately to alarms, emergencies, or unusual conditions.
  • Communicate significant issues to the appropriate Client's site personnel.
  • Maintain awareness of ongoing construction activities.
  • Perform basic site-support tasks when not actively engaged in Fire Watch duties.
  • Maintain a clean and professional work area.
  • Follow all PPE and job-site requirements.
  • Exercise sound judgment and escalate issues appropriately.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour shift.
  • Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors/indoors and around an active construction environment.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Ability to provide required work boots and appropriate work clothing.
  • Strong common sense and situational awareness.

Preferred:

  • Previous Fire Watch experience.
  • Construction-site experience.
  • Industrial or manufacturing experience.
  • Safety-related experience.
  • Experience working independently on an overnight shift.

PPE / Dress Requirements

Client will provide:

  • Hard hat
  • Safety glasses
  • Gloves
  • High-visibility vest

Employees must provide:

  • Appropriate work clothing
  • Work pants/jeans
  • Safety/composite-toe work boots meeting site requirements

No ripped, excessively baggy, or inappropriate clothing is permitted.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Move around a large construction-site environment.
  • Perform occasional basic physical/site-support tasks.
  • Maintain alertness throughout a 12-hour shift.

Project Opportunity

The Fire Watch requirement is expected to be temporary while the facility's fire protection system is redesigned and returned to normal operation. The current estimate is approximately 3 6 months , with the possibility of extending longer depending on design, permitting, and construction requirements.

Strong performers may have the opportunity to transition into General Labor or other construction-support work as the project progresses.

This is part of a long-term data center construction project with an anticipated duration of approximately 139 weeks .

Candidates should be comfortable taking direction, using good judgment, and handling routine responsibilities independently.
